Re: 2011 GSL World Championship
The ones I put in my post are confirmed. The other names on the link are going to play a preliminary for the remaining spots. The 4 remaining players for Korea have yet to be confirmed.

Yeah the North American prelim players listed don't seem to get a lot of people. Guess we'll find out more closer to the tournament date.

Global Starleague World Championship.
I guess they've realized they aren't as global as they hoped. :P
In any case, I really want to see a truly global tournament. Why no IdrA, why!?

Re: 2011 GSL World Championship
Problem was they need to fly out to Korea. And the time of it sort of coincides with when NASL and MLG are starting up. So a lot of players can't go as they will be playing in those. It's unfortunate. But it means late March into April will be when this years SC2 tournaments really get going.
EDIT: One thing though is that actually it is possible to play this and NASL at the same time. NASL starts off with group play online. So technically players can play in this and do some online matches from Korea on the days needed. But not many players would be willing to do that.

Re: 2011 GSL World Championship
They really need to coordinate these things; hopefully as the years go on we'll end up with MLG, NASL, ESL and the World Championship at different times of the year. There is plenty of time in a year, and there is no reason why a player should be unable to participate in at least 3 of those (obviously, there won't be many players in both the European and North American Leagues).
Ah, well, SCII is still young, and yet there is such a great global eSports scene. Hopefully, soon the game will become more mature, and the big tournaments will really start to coordinate.
In appreciation of your support, the event will be brought to you by GOM TV at no charge.
Do not hesitate to spread the word as both the HQ & SQ live broadcasts and the VODs will be available to everyone at no cost!
I'd have been willing to pay for it just to see them all playing each other. The only player I'm a bit meh about would be anypro. So people no excuse not to watch it even if you usually don't pay to watch Gom's tournaments.
And LOL...Artosis is the coach for the world all star team. Only 1 terran on the world team.:P Interestingly Sen and TT1 are participating in it even though NASL is starting up soon. I guess the both of them don't mind doing some online matches from Korea for their groups.
EDIT: And Gom is basically paying all of them. Just by going they get around US$2600 even if they lose in the first round of the individual tournament. Guess that would cover their costs of flying out there.
