Why does this sound familiar.

Rob Pardo: Welcome fansites.
Fansite: Yeah, hi, what's this all about Pardo? We got your last minute message.
Rob Pardo: Oh... I was just feeling a little lonely... thought I'd invite some of you guys over.. maybe we could catch a game... drink some beers...
GearvOsh: Don't you have a big convention tomorrow?
Rob Pardo: Oh, that reminds me why I called you here.
LoA: Yes, what is it, Mr. Pardo?
Rob Pardo: Blizzcon is tomorrow! I hope you're all coming!
Fansites: ...
Yeah, no way there's ANOTHER fansite summit tomorrow.
*coughs* Why couldn't there be a fansite summit tomorrow?
Not really if you look at it...
It doesn't have to be a press release. They could just spend some time and chit chat together for the sake of PR. Answer basic questions to sites relating to the use of press passes and answer questions to help them do their jobs. It's the same reason that weddings have dress rehearsals... so it's smooth. We also know the people who would be involved in such a thing will be BUSY AS HELL when Blizzcon is actually in swing... That kinda stuff :)
Please understand, this is IF there is such a thing, it's my personal speculation of what could happen. That's all.
I'm SURE they have better things to do before Blizzcon, but who knows.....

posted by lipton of starfeeder: Hey folks, I'll be leaving tonight to met up with my bro in Anaheim, I'll be going to the Fansite summit Thursday morning which will be held at Blizzard HQ. We're limited on the amount of photos we can take and no video is allowed unfortunately.
As soon as I get back to the hotel I will blog the information that is clear of NDA restrictions, as well as my 2nd experience to Blizzard HQ.
Well, people going there would just need to pay 2 more days @ hotel, so if they want to discuss something with fansites worldwide, it's a good moment to do it.
Can someone confirm? Surely it's no secret, right?
People are in Anaheim today ;)
Update from gearvOsh:
Off to anaheim to check into my hotel for Blizzcon :] Then its off to Blizzard HQ tomorrow for the fansite summit.
They probaly give them info about Blizzcon, so they have some time to prepare themself and write articless, before the event starts.
Last time they had lunch with Dustin Browder, etc. But this is only for lead admins afaik.
