See, this is where you seem to stop understanding word "subjective". You're talking about what better fits and better portrays character FOR YOU.
For me, fine, and I think I have a good grasp on the character, because yes, I do consider myself a writer, and a pretty good fiction analyst. Just because I don't work for Blizzard doesn't mean that I don't or that I'm not.

Just because other people (or even more people) agrees with you doesn't mean you're nessesarily right (or wrong). Because there is NO right or wrong here. That is what people saying "stop bitching" (not literally of course) or "get over it" tried to tell from the very begining of this topic. That there is NO POINT in this discussion.
I'm not bitching. I wish people would stop bloody accusing me of 'bitching'. I've been MORE than fair to the new performance. Just because I don't blindly accept every creative decision Blizzard's made in the past 4 years doesn't mean I'm a whiny prepubescent who wants everything to stay the same.
And there is right or wrong in this instance (well 'right or wrong' is not really accurate), and there is a point to this discussion, comparing the qualities that both actresses bring to the role. Kerrigan was portrayed a certain way in Brood War, a direction that Blizzard seems to want to continue in StarCraft 2 based on the way the dialogue is written.
Yet they've cast an actress who plays the lines very differently, which in turn makes Kerrigan into a very different character. Why would they do this? I don't understand it.

It's not like Blizzard have chosen some random actress. Belive me, they've probably spent weeks or months looking for Strassman, just to get Kerrigan like they wanted to. 'Cause it's Blizzard who knows this character best not you or anyone here by that matter.
Based on the dialogue I'd say they know her as well as they ever did, but the recasting just implies the reverse. They might be taking the character in a completely different direction, and I guess that's fine, but thus far I haven't seen that, except in the voice.
And I still don't understand what the POINT was to the recasting. She doesn't sound that much 'better'. She's not that creepy, she's not that vicious, she's just haughty, imposing and aloof more than anything. Which isn't all there is to the character. And yes, there is the element where she doesn't sound like the Kerrigan I'm familiar with. Again, consistency is important. Especially when you make such a major change to the characters visual and expect us to keep caring.
At this point, she's not Kerrigan.

And if you think that's not true... why are you their fans in the first place?!
Because in the past they've had a lot of talent and have done a lot of creative things, and they still do every once in a while. Their stuff has just become horribly inconsistent and extremely cliche at times. (Mostly talking about WoW here, though... StarCraft 2 isn't even out yet, though I find a few of their creative decisions questionable.)

What, 'cause right until this point everything was as you liked, but now that it isn't, you're offended? Well, what can I say - some major chill required!
Everything was not as I liked it before this point. But they had her cast, they said she sounded good, then they decided to recast her. I don't understand why. It doesn't make any sense. There's absolutely no reason for it -- it's completely irrational and I want an explanation for it. From Blizzard. But they proably won't give me one. Oh well.
