GSTL 2011 February

Global Starcraft II Team League
At first I thought that this would be in Korean only but apparently it's open for purchase now so I'm gonna get the ticket and hope they didn't trick me into watching a team league commentated in Korean.:P LOL.

The 8 teams with the most points get into this league. It is a first to win 4 games up to semifinals and each team chooses 8 players to participate. The finals will be first to win 5 games. The prize pool is:
1st Place 10,000,000 KRW (US$8980)
2nd Place 5,000,000 KRW (US$4490)

The selection of teams was based on the number of players in each team who got to Code S or Code A. The teams participating are:
oGs, Prime, ZeNEX, fOu, TSL, ST, IM, SlayerS.

On a side note: Looking back at the details of 2011's GSL formats etc from last year I suddenly realise how many tournaments they're running in 2011. 7 tournaments like the one they have now with Code S and Code A. 1 Super tournament in May with all Code S and A in a format like last years GSLs. 1 World championship in September inviting top players from around the world to compete against the koreans. 1 Blizzard cup in December for the top koreans of the year to compete. And finally the subject of this thread the team league. 11 tournaments this year. Damn can't help but feel excited about GOM's lineup of tournaments this year.

It is a good year for SCII.

Looks like GOMtv wants to milk this partnership for all it can get, and that sits perfectly fine with me.

On a side note, it appears that there isn't going to be a live stream. Can you confirm or deny this?

There is a livestream. Just going to the gom site and hovering over "Go Live" shows the next live is in 6 days and 21 hours and 19 minutes from the time of this post.

Noted. I'm changing them all to Cyan now. Seems a lot more legible.:P

Pretty interesting matches today. Liking the games on the new maps so far.

i only saw the last two or three games. looked pretty neat though.
