I believe you are talking about yourself. I work in the UI department at a major smart phone company. Let me tell you we do not do ID or software, while we do work closely with them, our job is to make it look good on paper, and it takes about 1-5 builds to get the full finished interface inside the Software. Less than a day is required to instigate all UI elements into a software build to test it out. Software might look like utter crap one day, and utterly amazing the next. That's the essence of UI design. We don't mold our UI slowly into the software, no it doesn't work like that. We create it in photoshop, mock it up in Flash/Javascript do some quick Java programs to test out interactivity, then once everyone is satisfied, we cut it up and ship it to the software guys. While at the same time we work with the software guys closely to see what they can do/can't do in terms of UI placements, animation, etc. we don't control the software development trunk. They are working hard on aspects such as networking, security, etc and have absolutely no interest in UI design or implementation. This flows the same way as ID, while they do have an interest and give us lots of feedback, they do not control our time lines and deadlines.
So what is your problem? You can't wrap your head around how the industry works or you won't? Maybe you should try to work in the tech industry to see how things are run before telling people misinformation and sheer bullcrap.

I'm sorry, I couldn't make out the technobabble over your nerd-rage.
You people are actually trying to justify a remodel of the Zealot when the game is being delayed by b.net. I'm laughing so hard right now, thank you.
Re: Karune is back on Official forum
Right, because Samwise has a lot of control over B.net programming. His artistic skills obviously mastermind the architecture behind the program.
I see you just choose to be ignorant and trollish. I rest my case.

FYI, Art pass doesn't mean the 2D art. It means the 3D, the model. Thx for playing though.
Re: Karune is back on Official forum
I think the biggest point of contention is why is Blizz investing time revisiting the art of solid looking units (the Zealot) when so many other units are less desirable (Thor, Carrier). But realistically art is such a subjective subject, and what might look good to one person could look corny to another. So in the end they'll work on whatever they're not happy with. Something tells me they have plenty of time to finess the visuals while waiting for the back-end to catch up.
Also, I think it's naive to assume the art team has no say on the overall aesthetics of B.NET. Granted they may not know a thing about programming, but depending on their expertise they could offer a unique perspective on how user-friendly the UI could be, and how it could be made aesthetically more appealing without worrying about the nuts and bolts.

Thank you for repeating what I've been saying. Lets see if the sheeple get angry at you too.

I think that's more for your knowledge because that's what I've been trying to say. Stop pwning yourself.
Re: Karune is back on Official forum
And we don't know what else they might be working on, and not be telling us. I'll be honest, I know nothing about what's going on in the art department save for what Karune has announced, but there may be more than what we're being told, and with Blizzard, that's usually the case.
Also guys, cool it a little bit. We're all aware that specialized artists don't normally work outside their department. That's not the point DS is trying to make. And DS, tone down the asshatery.

Yeah, they have some say, but they certainly don't dictate deadlines for the UI team. I don't understand why you people are so stuck up on how the art team is now affecting the delay of B.net... It's arbitrary discussion and pointless.
You have no idea what you're talking about. B.net is delayed because of programming issues, and the art team is now using that delayed time to polish more things that they deem need polishing. I wouldn't be suprised if the Thor/Carrier/Voidray, etc have all been touched up. Why you think the art team is slowing down B.net is beyond me. They are doing 1000x more work in the background OTHER than polishing up Zealots. You have no idea what goes on in the company and neither do I. But from my experience, things don't work like you say they do.
How do you know Blizzard is spending time ONLY on the Zealot? You do not. So ends the discussion.
