SC2 had lots of humor in it. What was your favorite joke? Here are some of mine:

Engine of destruction (all of it)

The Protoss campaign. Not for the actual content, but for the possible Warcraft parallels putting people into rage and panic mode on forums. Personally I'm in wait and see mode, though I'd feel somewhat let down if it is too similar to WC.

The delivery of the "Shut it" line was perfect. I questioned in a thread a while back as to whether it was intentionally or accidentally delayed... but it made it so much funnier due to the slight delay.

This one was my favourite lol.

Adjutant: The Dominion is attacking the civilians.
Tychus: Good, that'll keep them off our backs.

I dunno why, but that just made me LOL.
There are other lines, but I can't recall them ATM. The Baneling one was one of them, though. The Eugene one was funny the first time, but not nearly as much as these 2.

Oh, wait:
Tychus: We might upset the whole space-time continuum!
Raynor: Easy Tychus, this ain't science fiction.

Stettman: The Zerg are so fascinating, I wish we knew more about their physiology!
Tychus: I know all about 'em. Put a bullet in 'em, they die.

And I loved how Tychus never shut up during the first Odin mission.
Oh, and again when Nova kills Tosh...how he gets hurt.
Or when he fights Raynor in the bar and asks for help getting up.

Now that I think about it, the only funny scenes are with Matt (Deadman's port, haha) or Tychus...With the exception of when Nova helps Raynor stop Tosh's Spectres and everyone says she's his type. (Despite the fact Raynor is 32 and Nova is 21...)

Ok, for whatever reason, when Tosh goes:

"That turret across the bridge...it can see me!"

I completely cracked up :p. It just came across as sounding as if he's so badass being all: "I do what I wanna do!" and mindblasting Dominion marines, but when he's actually at risk of being detected, he shows his true colours as a coward :p. In my mind's eye, I just pictured him running away and abandoning the mission after spotting that single turret and saying nothing else beyond that line XD.


Also, the way Tychus delivered the line: "Them zerg burstin' up under us wherever they please ain't exactly conducive to our health and well-being" was fantastic :D.

The "terrible terrible damage" reference earned them a sarcastic chuckle and a quick roll of the eyes from me.

My pessimism? The campaign lacked any originality, or creativity or humor. Trying to find funny in the campaign is like trying to find a good smell in a toilet in China (if you've been there). Thus the thread is nigh useless.

However, some unit quotes are pretty funny, while others are incredibly un-funny / try hard to be. I dunno why there is such an inconsistency in quality in the game, I believe they have 2 teams at work, one being the original SC team, and another new team injecting average bs into the game.

Really? The fact that people are posting — what's the word? — funny shit seems to suggest otherwise.

Wankey's just really "bittered" by his own opinion of the ending of WoL that he can't see "funny" when he sees it me-thinks. (:P kidding man ;))

I mean, there are quite a few funny scenes and quotes in SC2's campaign, as is demonstrated by the length of this thread itself. nuff said!

ON TOPIC:

I especially liked the Tosh assassination cut-scene lol. Tychus flying around when Tosh is going "hehehe, I am going too Keell Yoo !" And Tychus cries out in pain as his ass is being stabbed by a flip-dagger lol! The look on his face was priceless!

Blizzard really out-did themselves with character facial expressions; Even on lower settings you can capture the subtlety, and now that I can (finally) play the game on maxed, I can fully appreciate the depth of facial expressions on all characters, but that scene cracked me up every time! lol!

Phenom II x4 is really a huge upgrade on a dual core cpu - didn't realize that until I actually got myself one (955 BE - OC'ed to 3.62GHz on stock cooler hehehe) :D


I also liked the Matt Horner quote on Raynor's middle name.

"Careful's my middle name"

What I'm trying to do is find something positive on this forum at all. It'd be cool if the people who despised the campaign would finally move on and just discuss e-sports/strategy instead. It's been 7 months - pathetic. Yet on the other hand, after reading the same chronic complainers' dumb strategy theorycrafting & balance suggestions, maybe the campaign forum is where they should stay.

I played the game on low the first time around too. Ultra settings are glorious. :P

Can't wait to see what Blizz does with story mode in LoTV, when they really master it.

Ughh it's been so long...but when you have the Odin Thor and you're breaking out...when Tychus goes "nuts".
I remember he went to go take a shit or something while you had an intermission to regroup? I thought that was a clever method of inserting an intermission/pause for the player.


For those of you who do not have the collectors edition: During the Infested Dr. Ariel Hanson cinematic, after Raynor puts her down - he says "Why are all the women I meet so crazy?" (in the final game, he just says nothing)
Something like that, it was cut though. Pretty dark humor though and I guess it casted Raynor as a bit too dark.

I just replayed the Nova mission, and the cutscene after it was hilarious to me. I actually laughed out loud. It's the part where Tosh stabs the voodoo doll meant for Raynor and is surprised that it does nothing. Even Nova takes a stab at it. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to all, poor Tychus is getting tortured for no reason :D

Also, the Mira seen where Jim looks at Matt as if to say, "Do you want to talk to her?" and Matt shakes his hands as if to say, "Hell no! She's a crazy bitch!"

I've been there before :D Good stuff.
