SD's Fantasy Football League:
This year's league will be a combination of the BlizzForums participants along with my own league and anybody interested from here at SC:L. I think in this way we'll overall get a group that follow the league pretty regularly and will ultimately produce a good league overall. Just a fyi, Izzy is the two time defending champion in my own league while Erwin was the winner of the "BF only" league that occured last year.
What is Fantasy Football?
Just as a fyi for anyone who doesn't know. Fantasy football is a game that allows fans to take an active role in professional football by creating their own team and competing with teams built by others. Fans create their own roster of players by drafting talent from actual NFL teams and compete based on those players' real-life performances in NFL games. It is quite interesting and requires very little time to "manage your team."
How do I Sign Up?
Every year I have hosted the Fantasy Football League through Yahoo! and this year is no exception. The nifty part is that this year I can do a lot more customization to the league such as adding in divisions and also creating a "rivalry week." To sign up, there are two options:
1. Private message me your e-mail address and I will send you an invitation e-mail that will directly tell you how to get into the league. Note: If you were a member of my personal league last year you should have already received this e-mail.
2. Follow these steps:
1. Go to: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/register/joinleague
2. Log into your Yahoo! account. If you don't have one, you will obviously need to create one which isn't hard.
3. Click on Join Custom League
4. Enter in the League ID: 221289 and the Password: sd
5. Complete the rest of the information and you are set!
Important Notes:
1. The Live Draft is currently scheduled for Sunday, August 16th @ 9:00 PM EDT. To access the Live Draft you will need to go to the League Page which is at: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/stratsd and you will see a link available for the draft shortly before. This time can be moved if need be.
2. Anyone is welcome to join the league. Just give me a heads up if you use a Team Name that is really out there.
3. The actual games start Thursday, September 3rd. I know that we're getting things set up a bit early but I'd rather give everyone an opportunity to join than to have people complaining about not joining a couple weeks after it started.
