When you are on this page "http://sclegacy.com/forums/index.php", you should add a social group box right under the general forums box that would show all the groups you are in as normal forum's section. A "view other groups" link could also be added at the bottom of this box.
The main problem with social groups is that they are not in a convenient place. They need to be accessible from the main forums because users don't want to monitor 2 pages at the same time, they only want to monitor one. This would easily fix the problem as well as making new users notice the social groups.
