If you couldn't afford a new computer (and your current one couldn't handle SCII) until 2-3 months after beta hits?
My processor just burned itself alive but I cannot afford a new computer until I start my new job full-time in the nearish future. Suggestions? :p
I have a massive Blizzard collection with some multiples I could sell but I'm not really interested in giving up my awesome pieces.
Grawr - a conundrum.

I know we don't get along, and if it was anything else I'd relish your suffering, but in the amazing irony of this situation you have my deepest sympathy.

You could resort to thievery.
Hm, no?
Ok fine.
Can't you just replace your processor without buying a whole new computer?
Or if not, just take a loan from your parents and pay them back after you get your job.

Dunno how old your system is / was, but if all the other components are good, I'd have to second on looking into just getting a new processor.
Depending on your board (AMD/Intel based) some of the dual core and even triple core processors are around the $100 range. Now, I dunno your finances that may be out of your range.
But there's always Visa :D

Nah - I can afford it - just not till the end of August - that's a long time to wait :p I wasn't looking for sympathy - just innovative ideas :p
I'm not poor :p srsly - look @ my thousands worth of Blizz collectibles.
I was planning on purchasing a new one then anyways - sadly my processor burned up before its time... :p Ah well I just break into the emergency savings.

Damn right you'd better break into the emergency savings. You're in an emergency situation, a possibility of not playing SC2 the moment it's released!

There are always ways to make money. However, it depends on how much you value your social standing and self-worth.

give me your PC config and I might be able to help you
I have some CPU's to spare and if it comes to help the admin of the SC:L site I might give it for free - but - you have to pay for the shipment

You got any friends with spare computers lying around, willing to donate one so you can play the beta until you can afford a new comp? Perhaps you could bribe them with a beta key?

Apparently there are those who disagree;
Your headline is wrong. Short Task is a scam site run by Harrison Barnes, a person widely discussed as running other scam sites. Short Task was designed after Harrison Barnes was formally prohibited from using Amazon's mTurk site because he repeatedly violated its terms of use...
