I rarely listen to a song for its lyrics. I'm mostly into it for the arrangement. I like anything that is really dark and really complex. This generally includes classical music, industrial/techno, and almost anything from the 80s. Sometimes I just listen to soundtracks from games I liked. Recently I have been listening to the soundtrack for the game Descent II.

I (hate) don't have much of taste of the 'new' music out there, if you can call it 'music'. Just something poppy and lively to keep my spirits up.

Echos of War! (Eradicate and Evolve, Children of the Worldstone) Pretty much any music from Blizzard.:D
ABBA
French singers Alizee and Lorie if anyone aware of them. (WOWs Night elf female dance moves were taken from Alizee's J'en Ai Marre.)

A lot of people online tend to like electronic music. I wonder if there is some sort of correlation.

I listen to mostly game music and J-pop.

My favourites of all time and pretty much all I listen to is...

Anime music, Phoenix Wright, Chrono Trigger, As One (I doubt anyone knows As One), Aqua, and techno. Also, O-zone, Michael Jackson, sometimes Kenny G and 80's music sometimes.

Pretty much into foreign music these days, mostly Japanese and some Korean music.

Though I think I mostly listen too the trance/chill-out station on digitally imported, and kawaii radio stream.

I used to have tons of American music but I tend to listen to a song to death and then I hate it...I find it better without words or with words I cannot understand ^_^

I feel the same way. I like more music that contains choir and voices in foreign languages... while I do understand bits of it at times (and eventually all of it if I decide to go search for the text) I do enjoy the unknown element of it.
There are, ofc, exceptions.

I agree so much with what you say about understanding the vocals. I hate when people argue versus metal with growling; "You can't understand what he sings!" .. So what?! It might sound awesome anyway.

Add 'Kwaito (http://kwaito.lmgtfy.com/?q=kwaito)', and we are in agreement.

I like a lot of things, but country is the ONE things I refuse to listen to.

I'm fond of techno, pop, grunge, alternative, anything strange, and anything made outside the US, especially Japanese, German, Russian, whatever. Some of my favorite artists include Lal Marie; Birthday Massacre; Flobots; ColdPlay; Kill Hannah; Mariam Matossian; Rjd2; She Wants Revenge; Queen; Modest Mouse; Bob Dylan...

Metal, classical, celtic and film and game scores. Blind Guardian and Iced Earth are probably my all time favourite bands, I'm also a big fan of Pink Floyd and Loreena McKennitt. As far as classical music goes I mostly like the Romantic 19th century composers such as Grieg and Sibelius (though Bach's stuff is also very cool).

Loreena Mckennitt is freaking awesome. One of the best voice I ever heard.
