Hey guys -

I was just curious if anyone is interested in starting a book club here. Each month we would vote on a book (after nominations), set a schedule (certain # of pages or chapters of pages to be read by xx/xx/'xx) and discuss.

If anyone is interested let me know and if we get a few people I'd be interested in doing this.

Cheers,

~LoA

I'd be interested if I could get the books in time.

Sweet - I seriously recommend your local library. I used to buy a ton of books now I rarely buy any. Such a sweet deal - plus it's your (or your parents) tax dollars that pay for them! We'd try to give people a week or two in advance to acquire it.

I might be interested. Moar bookz!

Seriously, what genre styles do you think you'd angle? A full spectrum or a set focus... speaking theoretically of course.

I'm interested, call the books as I will have money soon.

BTW are we speaking about a casual discusion or a hardcore literature discusion with Elemental aspects and all the fancy stuff.

Either one, I'll be happy in nailing the books to the ground ^^

Hmm... I do really need to get a crad for my local library... this might make me do it.

Hmmm... I'm mildly interested. I love reading, and talking about books, but not a big fan of dissecting them into, as The_Blade puts it, Elemental aspects and all that fancy stuff (it's a bit like dissecting animals, a frog cut into bits is not the same as a live and breathing one, and a fair bit of a most irritating pretention is often mixed with such literary dissections). I'd happily contribute recommendations/reviews though.

I would go to the library but the one here is terrible I'd have to drive 2 hours just to get to a decent library, I'll stick to amazon and the book store, I buy piles of books as it is, whats one or two more.

My library is epic. I live downtown so the library I go to just happens to be the Central Library. It's awesome - and huge.

And I am interested in a book club. I love reading but regretfully haven't done much of it in the last two years or so because I couldn't seem to find anything that interested me. Not only do I get to read but I'll get to actually discuss something which I don't think I've ever done on this forum.

Well, I never really got into reading... I guess this could be a way to show me if I've been missing out.

Hypothetically sign me up.

I'll join up depending on what books are picked.

I have read every book ever written. SO I'm in since I can recall them all from memory.

I concur with the SHMUP guy.

This is actually something I might be interested in if we picked some interesting books instead of just pulp sci-fi.

Not that I have anything against pulp sci, after all, I am posting in a SC forum, its just generally stuff that I save for boring trainrides and airports.

I'm in. Sign me up.

I'm near a few decent libraries, and read everything else at Borders or Barnes & Noble.

Aye... that be me... Though I usually take it to the cafe or stand so I'm not in the way.
