So who's playing it right now? How do you like the game so far?

It's really one of the best RPG I ever played. I just finished the game this morning after 40ish hours spent in it. This is the ending I got:

Allistair slept with Morrigan and she left with the baby. Allistair is now king and I'm his counselor. Lelliana lives with me. Pretty much everything in the world is going well except for the dwarves. Their king (lord Harrowmount or w/e how you spell it) got poisoned and there's another civil war going on. Maybe I should have gone with the other guy...

This game was so epic. I'm probably gonna start a new game after my final exams. I was mostly good in this run so for the next one I'll try to be a complete jerk. I was a warrior (berserker + templar) and will probably try to be a blood mage in my next game.

My only complaint is that the main character didn't have a voice other than battle grunts and the lines they say when you choose the voice tone. Other than that, probably the best rpg I've played

Kerrigan's queens might need to look more like the brood mother.

The place where I think they should improve the most is the enemy ai. They can be so dumb sometimes, especially in the final quest. There were hordes of darkspawns and none were charging at me. They were just standing there at the door like idiots so I just sniped them with my bow and magic.

I would also have liked more different hairstyles in the character editor. Only a few were there and they got repeated a lot during the game. They could have made minimum more unique trait for main characters (at least they had a few ones, not like in oblivion...).

In all honesty though, those are really minor problems and certainly didn't stop me from enjoying the game.

Agreed. It is a minor complaint, Bioware just spoiled me from Mass Effect, lol. I concur about the AI, a few adjustment are needed to improve it

70 hours later! I have beaten the game, its pretty freaking good.

Played it on hard, and I had some bugs ( even some pretty critical ones) but I troubleshooted my way out of them( there was really only one bug that was annoying)

I can't wait for the sequel to this game, i'm looking forward to DLC but DLC wont bring the storytelling and the interaction of a expansion! Can't wait to explore the other continents of this world in the sure to follow sequels.

Wardens Keep DLC - Its worth it, you get some pretty good stuff there (make sure you find the sword before you leave)
Blood Dragon Armor DLC - It was free for me, and its pretty good and can carry a warrior-like char threw the entire game wearing it so beware of that, as I didnt like not getting upgrades for awhile on my main char.
Stone Watcher( or w/e) - GET THIS DLC, it comes with like every purchase and it is worth it! and fun!

The community is already working on some pretty epic projects too, cant wait to play these while I wait for mass Effect 2/dlc/sequels. My only regret here is the the map creator is kinda annoying and more complex than it needs to be so only the most hardcore people will complete there maps.

This certainly has quelled my thirst for a RPG, and will last me till mass effect and ff13!

Doing my second playthrew on nightmare, but going to take my time this time around.

Just some random thoughts, after watching some new mass effect 2 videos, am I the only one that feels like its just going to be more of the same...not having a voice on your main char in dragon age just worked for me, and after seeing some of the videos of ME2 I feel like theres alot of emotion being shown but its like short burst that dosn't flow that well...so bassicaly I think i'll like dragon age more, but who cares I will play mass effect 2 and love it as well T_T.

Playing as a rogue this time around, traps and bombs await!

If your still on the fence about this game, get it! and make sure you buy it on the PC

Wow you played on hard? I don't know if it's just me but that game is freaking hard even on normal. I had to play on easy (which felt like the actual normal setting) and I'm a pretty hardcore gamer. I guess that's mostly because I didn't bother pausing the game on every fight to give orders.

I was thinking of buying this game... maybe, after reading all of this... I just might. :)

Anyone else tried the level glitch yet? It takes forever but I can confirm it works. Level 25 Rogue while still in Ostagar lol.

If your playing it on the PC, which I suspect you are, you might as well just cheat with the console. Much easier.

I beat the game yesterday on hard, which should have been named "easy", with nightmare as normal. Nice to see bioware making a good RPG after the fail that was mass effect. A lot of stuff needs polishing, but it was good enough to warrant an actual purchase halfway through.

Eagerly awaiting sequel.

my profile, for those of you doubting that pirates actually buy games they say they will buy if they turn out to be good.

I'm at the very end in Dragon Age, about to go up to fort Drakon to battle the archdemon, and it has been a great great game ( reminiscient of Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights ), but I still give Mass Effect the great gameplay value over this by just 1%.

Not having a voice was also very annoying at first, and just plain weird.

the fail that was mass effect.

I'm sorry, does my monitor malfunction? :)

I absolutely hated mass effect. From the completely dysfunctional dialogue (your character talks like the fallout three protagonist), crap like "omni gel", the massive delay on the PC, completely failtastic outdoor enviroments (the vast majority looks like they took the wc3 editor, set a texture, then spammed the "uneven terrain" button), completely lack of strategy in combat. The game feels more like fallout 3 with squadmates then a bioware sci-fi rpg to rival kotor. The sidequests were literally the worst I've seen in any bioware RPG. Its story was somewhat strong I guess, like all bioware games, but everything else was just complete and utter fail.

I am hoping that the sequel to mass effect fails less though. I've seen a lot of interesting things about it, combined with biowares significantly better performance on dragon age, combined with a simultaneous console/pc release. It won't be a first day purchase by far, but I'm putting faith in bioware for a purchase to occur at some point in time.

And it could be worse, despite the delayed port of the original, at least it didn't ship with the piss poor UI layout the xbox version had.

Then, their were the tech problems on the pc -_-

Honestly, the game itself wasn't that bad, in a pure objective sense. But I didn't pay to play fallout 3, I was expecting a bioware rpg. Too be fair, it wasn't that they produced a utter tripe game, it was that I bought it first day (something that for me means I have PHENOMENAL amount of faith in the developer, despite being pissed at the delayed port), and was sorely, sorely disappointed.

A game I would like to recommend to y'all would be

http://www.thewitcher.com/community/

I'm pretty sure the comparisons been done to death, but seriously, I'd highly recommend you try it out if the slightly awkward real time combat doesn't piss you off. The entire game is fantastic, because of some attribute I can't quite name. It just feels...right.

And the developers are definitely worth supporting. It is rare that developers these days will make such comprehensive patches like they did for the witcher, even introducing free modules (in the current publishing system, these are done out of the devs own wallet, instead of the publishers. Then, they re release the game with completely revamped graphics and coding...but give it FOR FREE to all the original owners of the game. That...is...downright...amazing.

I tried the witcher. It's decent. I don't like the protagonist so this pretty much kills the game for me but everything else about the game is great.

The Witcher was pretty cool game, but I got stuck in that damn bug queen level. You know, where the bug queen chases you ( if she hits you, it's instadeath ) through the underground, and you need to somehow collapse the cave in on her. I tried a whole afternoon to get by that and just couldn't.

Yeah the game isn't easy at all, sometimes you really have to micro all your units for the entire fight ( or just your mages ). For the middle part of the game it was a struggle to not die on fights that had 2 enemy mages in them lol.

Its crazy how fast you can die, I've been caught in traps and killed before I could even swap to my healer.

After playing some on nightmare I can safely say chest are pretty much useless, since I didn't bring a rogue with me most of the time for the first playthrew I was always pissed cause there would be a chest I couldn't open every 10 feet...luckily it seems like its just random crap in chest and I've never once got anything good.

For some reason I really couldn't get into the witcher =/
