Except on the wii that is but if you look at the PS3, 360 and PC, almost every major titles get ported to both consoles and the pc. For example, here is a list of all the major titles released and coming with the respective system they are/will be on:

-Dragon Age: origins (PC, PS3, 360)
-Modern warfare 2 (PC, PS3, 360)
-Borderlands (PC, PS3, 360)
-GTA 4 (PC, PS3, 360)
-Battlefield Bad company 2 (PC, PS3, 360)
-Final Fantasy 13 (PS3, 360)
-Left for dead 2 (PC, PS3, 360)
-Resident Evil 5 (PC, PS3, 360)
-Mass Effect (PC, PS3, 360)
- and etc

The list goes on and on. So if we remove all those multi-platform games from the list of best reviewed/most expected games, what's left? Not much... God of war 3? Halo 3?

While it could be a convenient aspect of the new gaming experience, what's the point of buying a console anymore? Might as well play the games on your pc. This might be one of the reason(of course not the main one) why the wii is selling more than it's competitors. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) both the 360 and the PS3 are coming with their own reasons to develop exclusivities. Indeed project NATAL is coming out in November 2010 and the PS3 wand will come in Spring 2010. Unfortunately, I doubt that the exclusivities that will follow will be AAA titles. In fact, I fear that a new wave of shelvewares will attack our "hardcore" systems the same way they overrun the wii at the moment.

How do you guys feel about the lack of AAA exclusivities?

EDIT: Could a mod correct my thread name (are instead of is)?

Doesn't seem like a big deal to me, so people with PS3s can play Modern Warfare 2, oh well. I'll just keep playing it on the Xbox.

Age of Spaceology! Das war nicht Halo!

As for exclusives, I'd say that that aspect of gaming is probably on the way out, but choosing consoles will still be an important aspect of your gaming experience.
Seriously, do you want blu-ray or a decent online experience? Or do you want a console that you can play for three months and then sell on Ebay?
