ok, my pc is a little old and i'm not sure if i want build a new one, but if there's something I can upgrade to eek out a few more FPS in Batman Arkham Asylum, I'd probably consider it. The game is playable, but it lags in the benchmark in certain spots REGARDLESS of video settings...

my current setup is:

BioStar GeForce 6100-M9
Athlon X2 3800+ (2.0 Ghz per core, BUS speed 200 Mhz)
2.75 Gb of DDR (166 Mhz)
Geforce 9600 GSO (Core 550 Mhz, 384 Mb of GDDR3)

I'm starting to see that going cheap when you build it isn't a good idea... :p

I'm gonna say the Geforces are the weakest part get a good video card to replace them and you should see a difference.

sorry, i should have clarified, the Biostar 6100 is my motherboard - i don't use the onboard video at all...

Can it really be the video card if it lags regardless of video settings? I was actually hoping that was the strongest part of my system

Well, adding more ram wont do you much good unless you move to a 64 bit os and upgrading your processor would most likely require you needing a new motherboard and in doing so said old video card may or may not be compatible with newer mobos so its really a crap shoot either way.

If i were upgrading that machine I would start with a video card get one with 1024 mb such as a Radeon or a GTX ( I perfer Radeon)
