A lot of people responded positively to the video suggestion about tracing the Marine's aesthetic and portrayal throughout SC1, Brood War, and SC2, so I think that's the one that we'll do first.

I'm a college student currently and I don't have a microphone or anything like that for a YouTube channel (although I really wish I did) so it might be some time before this video actually goes up, but nonetheless I'm very happy to begin SideCraft and any and all people are welcome to be guests on it or work on it or what have you.

Cool! Go for it. Hopefully you get to be a big success. :D

So are you talking in-universe marine armor changes (like the history of the tech) or the out-world design considerations?

Both for sure, but mainly looking at it from an art perspective. As part of a broader exploration of how Starcraft's art style had changed throughout the years.

You'll want to go find some of the older SCL editorials when it comes to the marine. I believe it was LeetleBoi who wrote up an article about the gauss rifle, including extensive mathematical notation on the kinetic energy of gauss rounds and the over all function of the rifle (which is a hybrid of mass driver and chemical propellant systems).

If you ever want to tackle the dragoon, let me know. I've got some calculations for its disruptor cannon. ;)

Got my own thoughts on this too, definitely willing to compare/contribute. Curious to see what visual designs you link to each designation.
