Any thoughts?

I liked it more than I hatted it. Takes out some of the mystical factor away from the plot, which IMO is very good. However, it was not as subtle as the tone suggests.

Amon's presence is through the Hybrids, not omniscient. It's still a hierarchy of thought.

Read it a little while ago.

This would be consistent with the Dark Whispers mission in the prologue. Remember, as they were attacking the Moebius defenses, Zeratul commented that the terran minds have been consumed and they're now slaves to the hybrids.

To me, this short story would imply the origins of the Shadow Corps began here. But this also means it's nothing more than a renamed version of Moebius, which is pretty much what everyone had been expecting Blizzard to do ever since they introduced the Shadow Corps all the way back at Blizzcon 2014.

They should have instead tried to use some of the lore from "Dark Origins" instead.

It certainly could have worked, if you recall the part of the terrans warping in due to experimentation with Protoss pylon technology.

If you recall, in the Dark Origins mission, the terran mercenaries had problems utilizing the Protoss pylons and photon cannons. This could have then been tied together. It's possible that back then, the mercs under Duran's command didn't have enough resources to properly wield such technology. When Duran infiltrated the Dominion under Narud, along with the whole Moebius Foundation, funding increased dramatically, allowing the terran mercs under his command to better be able to control Protoss tech.

I'm almost certain those mercs from Dark Origin were part of Moebius. Though that's head-canon.

I'm a fan of how bloody and horrific this one is. Because all this alien stuff should be terrifying for the people involved in it.

(Also, hey, they mentioned Grizzlies! Shoutout to Ghost)

I want to believe that too. But unless Blizzard confirms this in LotV....

That was... kinda bad.

Thats what you get when your sci fi universe devolves to "ancient evil awakens".

I'm sticking to the Protoss and Zerg short stories from now on.

You liked those way more than even the novels? The novels weren't crap, Gradius

It's actually not head-canon on thinking of it.

They worked for Narud. They were red. They controlled protoss tech (which they likely got from Narud's protoss, the Tal'darim). They were making hybrid.

Weren't named yet, but logic dictates they were Moebius.

Right, and LotV should at least imply that.

It's already been implied by the facts.

But good point. Take this poem, for instance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwcP3NOCeiE

While the imagery and timing of its writing suggests it's about the atrocity of the First World War, this isn't actually stated or implied in any obvious way. Most likely just hare-brained fanon, and the poem is actually about scare-crows, children dancing around prickly pears and wind that sings through trees swinging about, while creepy voices from Hell mutter. That's all we have to go on, therefore that's it.

Yes it is, until Blizzard messes it back up again in LotV

Ah, that's what you meant. I've seen you say stuff like this before, but (no offense), you're not the best at getting ideas across sometimes.

I understand, a few others have said this to be before.
