View Full Version : So we can't modify the team colors anymore?

after this ridiculous patch that bricked the game on my computer (have to use my friend's) I opened up the editor and can't modify the team colors.

Normally I could go to Gameplay Data and go to Team colors and change them, but for some reason the editor either does not show the changes, or or just doesn't change anything

what is going on? am I doing something wrong now?

You probably can still, it just fucked with it. If it doesn't, my thing still works :D. All the more reason for me to get the base-mod out, eh? It's almost like I colluded with Blizzard.

But seriously, it's probably a bug, so make a ticket in support on BN about it.

That team-colour override based on the dark protoss invisble upgrade from the campaign. None of them are separate units from regular protoss, at least in WoL and HotS. I did some tests. Can change team colour the same way, can change portraits the same way, can change unit models the same way. I'm pretty sure you saw me mention it on Battle.net as Shekels.

But yeah, send in a bug report or whatever you think is more appropriate. It wasn't listed in the patch notes, so it's likely a bug.

If you're curious about the little mod I'm making, this list of colours is one of the features. It's simply a modding base, no changes to units or anything. Will also include randomly assigned genders (with matching portraits) for certain (not all, because I don't have that much free time) terran and protoss units. Nothing too difficult, with the vast swathes of actors on Mapster and elsewhere, not to mention the dozens of portraits.

Like I said, report it on the support forum on Battle.net. Either they'll fix it, or someone else will have a work-around.

There are some dependencies that stopped working after the patch. Maybe your map contains one of these.

I don't know, I've experimented with new maps using the standard dependencies (HotS) or (WoL).

unless those are broken too

Nah, Blizzard's patch screwed things up so much (making the game literrally unplayable, or unlaunchable) so I went on a rampage.

I basically paid 120$ for a game that doesn't work. :/

This is one of those disadvantages when it comes to PC gaming. The patches tend to make things worse. You rarely see this with consoles.

Well doesn't matter now.

I got back on my Friend's PC again and decided to test one more time and now the team colors work all of a sudden :/

Whatever.

I guess the powers of my being banned fixed my color issues :\
