Aw hell, not these Tal'Darim guys again. They seriously need to know when to quit.
Oh, by the way, the Sith called. They want their schtick back. :D

This is what I'm taking away from the story: it's laying down the rules for our eventual confrontation with the Tal'Darim on Slayn. We know there will be a struggle where a Daelaam champion fights with a Tal'Darim champion. I'm thinking that Artanis will be fighting the High Lord, and will effectively become the High Lord himself of the Tal'Darim. By the laws of the Tal'Darim (and perhaps after a Media Blitz-style mission before hand, informing the Tal'Darim will ultimately be betrayed by Amon), they have no choice but to follow Artanis' lead. Alarak may be the Tal'Darim we see in trailers that is dressed head-to-toe in armor, representing that faction for the players, and becomes First Ascendant under Artanis.

Ma'lash = Saren
Bullshit sci-fi theory on Amon & the void:
I think that Amon is hiding in other spatial dimensions like the Voice in the Darkness and Tassadar. The void, maybe powered by gravitons traveling through other dimensions, is his primary energy source through which he has entrenched himself into over millennia. He's done this by quantum entangling his mental presence with the gravitons and other particles that are flying through higher-dimensional space. Taking terrazine also attunes your connection to these higher dimensions and allows you to therefore sense Amon's mental processes.

I'm not sure Artanis would become the highlord for the Tal'darim, but merely to turn the Tal'darim against Amon. Still, killing Mal'ash in such a way is merely to prove who is the strongest, which is likely what the Tal'darim seem to follow.

Here's a thought.
The Tal'Darim have essentially had exclusive access to Aiur, since the Khalai departed, right?
Could they now possess the essence translators needed to make Dragoons now? Either way, I'm pretty sure we'll be retrieving the translators at an early point in the campaign.

I don't think they'd have exclusive access to Aiur. At least, we don't know about any visitors to Aiur (after it fell) in detail.
