So who are they? Do you listen to classical music?
My favorites are:
-Saint-Saens
-Bach
-Telemann
-Brahms
-Vivaldi
Close 2nds are Dvorak, Widor and Albinoni. I'm really not a fan of the ever popular Mozart and Beethoven. Even though they both have some really great stuff that I could listen to every day, in general I tend to stay away from everything else they made.

I prefer Chopin and Brahms

Beethoven all the way. One of my life goals is to be able to play all of his Sonatas.

Seeing his Emperor Concerto performed on the 30th of this month. The 2nd movement is probably the most beautiful song I've ever heard.

Good choice. That song gets my heart racing everytime I play it.

Vivaldi, Beethoven, Wagner and Mozart are my favorites, in that order. While a lot of detractors claim Vivaldi made only 1 song and simply changed it, I disagree. My personal favorite is Concerto for 2 Chellos, Strings, and Continuo in G Minor (or R.531) is a stunning piece of music that I listen to almost every day, and I'm also partial to his Spring.
Wagner was more an operatic than a composer, but who can say they don't enjoy Ride of the Valkyries? Some of his pieces are amazingly emotional and enjoyable.

You could open the radio in your chopper and play ride of the valkyries which was fitting the whole atmosphere so well.
I can't say I have a favorite composer, but I do have a favorite piece: My favorite too, Bach at his best. I prefer the Fugue over the Toccata though.

It's SPOOKY BALL!
...for those of you who've never played Peggle, you have no idea what I'm talking about. But yes, I do enjoy some pieces of Bach as well. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to Classical, having purchased a nice 100 song sampler from just about everybody about six months ago.

Okay, in all seriousness most of them have been mentioned. How about some Handel?

I really love some of the better known russian composers like Rachmaninov and Mussorgsky. They tell their story so clearly, it's enchanting.
Besides that, I'm a big fan of Vivaldi and Ravel (I feel like Ravel doesn't get enough attention), who have absolutely nothing in common... :p
The whole point of my post was to get to this: If there's one well known composer who's music I CAN'T enjoy, it's got to be Chopin. For some reason I can't get into his music. Maybe his rythm is different from the other's? I never really bothered looking into this too much because there are so many more classical composers to discover (and I'm not even talking about their interpretations...).

Chopin was the first classical comprosser I was introduced to so I love his music regardless, I love listening to pretty much any classical piece, and how could I forget Rachmaninov, thank you for curing me of my brain fart.

How could I possibly forget about Rachmaninoff! I absolutely love his Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini, 18th variation. Quite a romantic piece. I also enjoy a bit of Liszt.

Chopin is a beast. That guy loves to create songs with odd time signatures like 11/14, or something which puts an even amount of notes against an odd amount. This, combined with the fact that his left hand was so advanced makes him really challenging to play.
His Noctures are amazing, and I especially like his Fantasie Impromptu, Op. 66.

It's funny. I learned about Liszt a couple weeks back when I was looking for the Halo ODST song, which is a gaelic song, Cafe del Mar's "Lament", performed by an Hungarian band. I'm not cultured like the rest of you and go looking for classical music on a whim. Even so, I was pleased by this find.

Are soundtrack composers barred from this? I like some of Nicholas Hooper's work on the new newest harry potter soundtrack...
