Blizzard announced today that they will be having a conference call to announce their fiscal figures for the year.  What makes this news is the fact that this call will be broadcast over the internet, for the public to listen to. The last conference call they had was to announce that there will be no beta in 2009.  This call was not broadcast publicly.  So our starving, desperate, fanboy-minds must conclude: "non-public call = bad beta news, then public call = good beta news??" Question mark?"

A rumor currently floating around the community is that there is another world-wide sign up for accounts, of which the closing date is January 26 and in which professional gamers can participate. The last sign up of this calibur was before the June 22nd press event. Polish, Italian and Russian forums have also been opened up, so Blizzard is doing alot of localizing right now, perhaps to prepare for world-wide testing.

There is no hard confirmation of anything at the moment, but we can definitely hope. Keep your fingers crossed people, something could actually conceivably be happening!  Here is the press release from Blizzard:
