With the explosion of new StarCraft media, new retcons, or changes to previous storyline facts in a franchise also have to be made. Wings of Liberty has not introduced too many changes, but the changes that have been made to the original game are substantial. Anybody who played the StarCraft or Brood War single-player campaign will surely be surprised to learn some of the new changes, such as the fact that the characters which players walked in the shoes of, never existed. SC:L has compiled a list of current retcons. In addition, our StarCraft Retcons Analysis article goes into heavy discussion about the motivations behind these changes, and the value of the changes themselves.
