StarCraft II

Gamepro
has written an article that analyses several scientific and sci-fi concepts within StarCraft II's universe. The article questions if a number of these fictional ideas could be possible in the distant future. The writer of the article previously consulted a number of real-life scientists in various fields and asked them if things such an Overmind- like creature, Teleportation or Species Assimilation could actually occur or exist. Many may be surprised to hear that according to scientific opinion, most of these far-fetched concepts are either plausible or possible within our universe at a later point in time.

Scientists in a variety of fields including entomology, evolutionary biology, systems ecology, astrobiology, and physics, help us determine how much of the technology featured in the StarCraft universe is entirely science fiction and what could actually exist in real life.

As far as
StarCraft II and its science goes, it seems as though many possible concepts concerning biology and living creatures are indeed possible. The concepts and theories of evolution and how living organisms adapt to their enviroments are both controversial and enthralling at the same time. According to this article and popular belief, a Zerg-like species has a much better chance of existing than a Protoss variant. Chalk one up for the bug guys!
