StarCraft II
Earlier today, Best Buy hosted a public chat where StarCraft II fans could talk with the developers and ask game-related questions. A majority of the questions consisted of fans asking about the single-player campaign, overall game balance and about how particular units will change in the future as the game evolves.
Guest-190: Will there be a snow tileset in the campaign?
Dustin Browder: No. We will be doing snow in the future. Sorry. =(
Scytone: What is your take on EMP? Do you feel it is to strong? are there any plans to change it?
Dustin Browder: EMP is necessary for Terrans right to defend against Protoss. I also think it might have more use that we are currently seeing against Zerg (but I could be wrong about that). We have nerfed its radius in the past and we can do so again if necessary. We don't believe (currently) that it is a problem.
Guest-280: What are your plans for the 1st expansion in terms of campaign and how will it be different to the hyperion stuff and how missions work in SC2 WOL
Dustin Browder: We are going to focus Kerrigan on evolving the swarm as well as focus on Kerrigan as a "hero" unit on the map. There will be no research or mercenaries and no cash. I don't know what the mechanics will be exactly but expect a lot of infestation and evolution.
