Update: We've just received word that the event is going to have limited space, so tickets can be purchased
here! The party time frame and location have now been finalized: 4pm to 4am (PST) July 26th to 27th and the location is Harvey Mudd College. Tickets are expected to go fast so if you are interested in attending, get your ticket now!
Community man Sean 'Day[9]' Plot, will be hosting a 12 hour long broadcast countdown during the night before the long awaited StarCraft II release the 27th of July.
On July 26th, Day[9] is hosting a 12 hour broadcast countdown to the release of Starcraft 2! Day[9] and DJWheat will be broadcasting in front of a LIVE audience at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California (times and specifics upcoming) with the entire event streamed over UStream. The event will be 12 hours of nonstop Starcraft talk, interviews, matches, and commentary contributed by every major name in the Starcraft community: Tasteless, Artosis, HDStarcraft, HuskyStarcraft, Homer, Teamliquid, Gosugamers, Gosucoaching, Good2game, ICCUP, GLHF.tv, Fragster.de, SCLegacy, and eSportsfrance to name a few. The event will wrap up with the finals of Day[9]'s King of the Beta Invite tournament casted live by Day[9] and DJWheat followed by, of course, the final countdown to the release of Starcraft 2 at midnight.
- Community content will include:
- Commentated matches between top beta players
- Video coverage from live SC2 beta events
- Interviews from top Korean professionals, as well as top American and European beta players
- An in-game movie made with the Starcraft 2 map editor
- SC and SC2 Pimpest Plays
The live event will include large projector screens filled with Starcraft awesomeness, food, board games, gaming booths, lounge areas, an auditorium, giveaways, prizes, top SC2 players, and of course Day[9] and DJWheat in person. If for some reason you miss any of the action, every video will be archived for future viewing. Stay tuned for details and, until then... GET HYPED FOR STARCRAFT 2!
You can probably guess which parts of the show we are on the hook for, but watch out! We probably have a few surprises that might show up in our portion. This is a great community event and it should be very fun.
