Shacknews reports that at an Activision-Blizzard pre-E3 conference call, Mike Morhaime, president of Blizzard Entertainment, announced that StarCraft II's target release date is before the end of 2009:
We're targeting an end of year release--this year--for StarCraft 2. But as always, we won't release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players.
Also, according to Gamespot, the target launch for the beta is later this summer:
