News -
StarCraft II
Both
GameSpy and
X-Play have posted interviews with
StarCraft II developers in the past few days.
First up, X-Play with a
video preview. Nothing new contained within, but some reconfirmations of battle.net 2.0's inclusion in beta, 2009 as a planned date for that beta and the fact that no mechanic, building or unit is exempt from balancing cuts.
Second we have gamespy who give us an
interview with Dustin Browder. Again, no major reveals but what is said is all very interesting (besides a bit of "Can the map editor...? Yes it can" silliness) and most of the questions seem to have been topics that have not been addressed in this way before. There was also one particular comment that caught the eye:
We're doing our best to make sure our missions give players new and unique experiences, so we're viewing each mission as its own special mini-game. We don't want to give away too many surprises, but we can tell you that one of the missions will have you doing a series of train robberies. How that exactly plays out, you'll have to wait and see, but we're having a lot of fun putting these ideas into practice.
Despite the fact it's likely a Terran versus Terran situation, this leaves us with one question that provoked some interesting discussion within SC:L: How do the Zerg stop a train?
