After a long dry spell of inactivity it seems that things are finally starting to speed up. Shortly after releasing
Battle Report 1, Blizzard updated
StarCraft2.com with three new screenshots and a wallpaper:
Of special note is the lighting effects in these screenshots; the units' lighting draws heavily from the environment's ambiance. As we reported in our
BlizzCon 2008 Art Exclusive, night/day effects would be implemented, and the middle screenshot appears to have been taken at night on the desert tileset. Needless to say, this game is looking amazing. It has far outgrown its original cartoony phase presented at the 2007 Worldwide Invitational.
