StarCraft II
The gaming site
Crispy Gamer has done an interview regarding
StarCraft II, with Blizzard's execute vice president
Frank Pearce, and public relations manager
Bob Colayco. Here's an excerpt of this four-page interview.
Crispy Gamer: Is the online community element something that you're thinking about adding to Battle.Net?
Pearce: It's something we're talking about. We've got such a big community surrounding StarCraft. There's a big community surrounding World of Warcraft and there's a big Blizzard community in general, and we would definitely like to do more with that.
Crispy Gamer: Are you looking at Steam as something like -- not just downloading games through Battle.Net -- but the community as well?
Pearce: It's really interesting, and we've been looking at Steam even before they brought those features in.
Crispy Gamer: What about plans for an open beta for StarCraft II?
Pearce: A beta is very important from the perspective of getting feedback from the community and continuing that process of iteration. A beta is something that we're very likely going to need to host. But we haven't made any determination whether we're going to have to host a closed beta or an open beta, or both yet.
Much of the interview involves little to no new information - but some of the questions asked receive a little more detail to some of the more interesting Battle.net/Community/Steam-ish realms.

The Terran Nomad has been renamed to the Vulkan and has received an art update. The Archon has also received an art update:
Speaking of the Nomad, it has actually gotten it's new art update, and a name update as well. It is now known as the Vulkan, and will be raining down chaos at your expansions with its Auto Turrets.
On that same note, the Archon has also been updated visually with an amazing portrait animation that will surely command respect when ordering this guy around. Furthermore, say good bye to the 'walking' Archons as the 'legs' to the unit model have been removed. This unit now hovers around the battlefield decimating enemy forces like a true ominous being.
Keep a look out for these two art updates in future screenshot releases :)
Karune also clarifies some of the Colossus's art:
The artists are still working with what would look best on the Colossus. In the latest build, many have seen that there is a beam sweeping from one side to another as the current visual.
Please also note that this is temporary art still, and even though that beam does seem to sweep randomly, it is actually doing instant damage to the whole line rather than what the visual implies, which is doing damage from one side to the other.
