By that point, many of the Dark Templar were cutting their tendrils.

Besides, refusing to use the Khala will still have an affect.

Also, Dark Templar Saga's past section took place approximately 1000 years before StarCraft.

The Tal'darim were stranded on Aiur for four years, and learned to cloak in that time.
Interesting, but did all of the Dark Templars learn to cloak, or simply the most powerfull of them?
4 years are really a short amount of time by Protoss standards. If all the Dark Templar can learn to cloak in such a short amount of time, it would be safe to say that even the most basic of their battle units would know how to do it.

No, that began after their exile, they cut them off in protest at the conclave's actions.

Possibly, although how much of their skill was individuality, and how much was hard work is debatable.

All of them learned. Raszagal was merely first.

Nope. In Shadow Hunters, many were cutting their tendrils before Adun even became aware of their existence.

Interesting, because that appears to be a direct contradiction of the SC manual, which states that they cut them off as a mark of disdain for the Conclave, 'after' the start of their exile. It should also be noted that the action was not universal, as Raszagal still had her appendages circa BW.

Also, all of this is distracting us from the primary topic, and as such, I'd suggest the DT also get the Star Relic.

There are even pictures of Dark Templar "today" who haven't cut their tendrils.

The implication is clear, however. No Khala = learn stealth quickly.

From my understanding the Dark Templar used their psionic powers to 'cloak' to hide from the Conclave on Aiur before it got smashed. They deemed that anyone who would not submit to being within in the Khala were a threat to their society. Adun helped them use their powers to hide from their own brethren and they eventually took the ship left behind by the Xel'Naga to evacuate from Aiur to Shakuras. Adun was ordered to kill them all but instead he helped them use their powers to hide pretty much. Also, in your lore you'll hear some stuff about a huge psionic storm that happened on Aiur. This was caused by the Dark Templars energies not being controlled properly and going all nilly willy. This is all gathered from Book 2 of the Dark Templar Saga and may not be entirely accurate, please correct where you see fit.

    No she didn't.

Those aren't her appendages on the side of her head.

It's a different type of tendril that all female protoss have. See Silendis for example. Appendages on the back of her head, tendrils on the side.

We don't have enough information to make a call like that, appendages out the side could well be a gender thing (like beards being male, among, um, other things), and even if they aren't, the burden's on you to provide a theory behind their existence, because I can't find any mention of any other tendrils in the Protoss physiology.

...dude, just look at the pictures.

They're spindly, whereas Psionic Appendages are thick and look like dreadlocks. Selendis has them, Zamara has them, as does Raszagal.

    No male protoss has them.

Side of her head. Spindly but plentiful, same colour as her skin... though that's kinda hard to tell, as her skin is almost the same colour that appendages are, and the picture is really small. But they're not on the back of her head, which is where the appendages grow from.

Side of her head, same colour as her skin. But also has dread-like psionic appendages on the back of her head. (Black/grey coloured)

Harder to tell with this one, but those tendrils are the same colour as her skin and not dark grey-coloured like appendages are. Though she doesn't seem to have appendages which is weird. Though they may just not be visible from this angle.

Though Zeratul has huge psionic appendages in StarCraft 2... (for some reason...) Raszagal has no clear Psionic Appendages, however. Those things on her head are something else, as they don't look anything like Psionic appendages, and they look like something that both Zamara and Selendis are shown to have (them being the only female protoss ever). And that Artanis, Aldaris, Tassadar, Fenix, etc. don't.

Maybe not definitive. But I'm 99.9% sure those tendrils are something else that only female protoss have.

Anyway, as for the tech-tree... I'm REALLY hoping they give us dark templar versions of the probe, observer, colossus and phase prism at the very least, and of course the tempest and corsair too. And some sort of Dark Templar foot-soldier. I don't know how extensive the tree would need to be, though... would they need an immortal/high templar equivalent...?

    Ehh... probably not.
