    Very well.
    Zeratul: I have journeyed through the darkness between the most distant stars. I have beheld the births of negative-suns and borne witness to the entropy of entire realities...
    Aldaris: Did not! That doesn't even make sense!
    Zeratul: Shut up, I totally did!

    Looks like we're not getting much of a consensus...

    The people who are saying "yes" don't seem to have a solid rationale to explain why they think this beyond "it has to be" (which is plainly not true) and the explanations of those saying "maybe" end up being more along the lines of "no". Seems like "chewbacca defense" is the best way to describe the position of someone who says "yes".

    To be fair thought, the only way I can think of "yes" as being even partially defendable is if the real Overmind really has precognition and actually and secretly knew that by going to the K sector it was going to die. Of course, even that position tends to break down when we come across the In Utter Darkness mission, which the audience obviously knows is not going to really happen thereby casting doubt on the Overmind's actual precognitive ability. And this is not even mentioning the "cherry picking" nature of what the directive and the real Overmind are permitted/not permitted to do.
    Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

    The best I could do was with my last post, altering perspectives and turning Tassadar's conversation with Zeratul into an "Obi-Wan's Certain-Point-of-View" thing.

    But those are all assumptions you're making to reach the desired conclusion that the Protoss would be harder to assimilate. I said I didn't have any reason to believe the Protoss were harder to assimilate, not that it was impossible
    I thought we established an incompatibility when Abathur said it existed. :\
    Aaand sold.

    Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
    The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
    Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

    The road's goal is the Origin of Being
    But be wary through what thickets it winds.

    Thing is, with Obi-Wan it was a blatant lie and cop-out. Tassadar never explicitly says or intimate the Overmind committing suicide, people just make the assumption that it did because the plan was to "free the Zerg" and for that to happen it had to die. If could easily be interpreted that the Overmind intended to live so it too could benefit from Kerrigan's ability to "free the Zerg" as well.

    FT's point is that all the stuff about incompatibility is after the fact (ie: the Xel'naga cycle, Abathur etc. all came after the event of the Overmind landing on Aiur with the reason being possibly an important step to assimilate the Protoss).
