Thread: Mutations?!

    Default Mutations?!

    Is anybody a bit disappointed by the lack of new mutations (a la Mutalisk ->.. and Hydralisk ->... in BroodWar) for Zerg?
    I was quite sure they would have added at least one in this expansion.

    I like the new units very much nevertheless....just wondering...

    I know a lot of people are wanting the roach to morph into the swarm host. Can't comment much on it, though

    I actually thought that Swarm Hosts were morphed from Roaches before watching some beta streams, which would've been pretty cool in my opinion.

    Furthermore I'm still wondering.... MUTAlisk has no sense right now as a name

    Come on, HYDRAlisks don't grow infinite numbers of heads. It's fine just sounding cool.

    We'll see more in the campaign, where lore actually matters.

    I've never gotten the mindset of people who think multiplayer tech trees are an accurate depiction of the military force in-lore, it clearly is not nor should it be.

    Not that anyone here has said that.

    I'm just irked that the Corruptor becomes whats essentially a Gaurdian now instead of the Mutalisk. Its all wonky.

    That does bother me too, but hey. If they make the guardian sufficiently different, I will not be bothered (perhaps a long-range sniper, like the tempest?). Retcon? Maybe. But if it's a retcon that makes the swarm richer feeling, I'm all for it. Not all retcons are bad, after all.

    Alternatively, the brood lord in campaign could focus more on the swarming aspect, dealing small amounts of damage, but spewing out many broodlings. But that's entirely baseless conjecture on my part.

    Note to self: rework brood lord for LotXN.
