    We will be bringing the beta down this afternoon to make the following balance changes. Thanks again for all the great feedback you've provided while testing Heart of the Swarm. We hope to see you testing these changes and sharing your input soon!

    Protoss

    Oracle
    The Phase Shield and Entomb abilities have been removed.
    This unit has a new ability called Pulsar Beam.
    The Oracle channels a beam at an enemy structure that deals 25 damage every second.
    2 mana is drained per second from the Oracle while this ability is channeled.
    This ability has a range of 5.
    This unit has a new ability called Time Warp.
    The Oracle creates a temporal field that slows all ground units’ movement speed within a 3.5 radius by 50%.
    This ability costs 75 energy to cast
    This ability can be cast from 9 range.
    Oracle build time has decreased from 60 to 35 seconds.

    Tempest
    Damage has been increased from 25 to 30.
    The +massive damage bonus no longer requires an upgrade at the Fleet Beacon.
    +Massive damage has been decreased from 35 to 30.

    Mothership Core
    This unit has a new ability called Envision.
    This ability grants the Mothership Core detection for 30 seconds.
    This ability costs 50 energy to cast.
    This ability grants detection within the Mothership Core’s sight range (14).
    The Purify ability no longer grants detection to the Nexus.
    The Purify ability has been renamed to “Photon Overcharge”.


    Zerg

    Ultralisk
    The speed of Burrow Charge has been increased from 2.25 to 3.75.

    Viper
    The duration of Blinding Cloud has been increased from 10 to 14 seconds.

    Spine Crawler
    This unit now completely blocks pathing when placed next to other structures, including other Spine Crawlers.
    Zerglings and other small units can no longer squeeze in between Spine Crawlers.
    The scale of this unit has been increased from 0.85 to 0.95.


    Terran

    Hellion
    Transformation to Hellbat no longer requires an upgrade and is enabled once an Armory is built.
    Nothing I dislike in particular. Still want them to make Evolution Chambers a prerequisite for the Spore Crawler.

    Concerned the Oracle now has an ability along the lines of the Void Ray attack - interested to see how that pans out.

    I like the spore crawler change.

    ...and the Widow mine missiles stayed in, eh? - ummm, ok then.....

    Cool patch! I love the recent focus on Protoss.

    The tempest and oracle changes are interesting, and should actually allow toss to go a third tech path (robo/twilight/ and now stargate).

    And having another form of detection with out forcing robo is a much needed change .

    I'm reluctant to comment on multiplayer stuff, but looking at the Oracle, I have to ask...what is it? I mean, it's gone from an economy harrasser to a void ray/sentry hybrid unit as far as I can tell. By the end of development it'll probably have more cut abilities than the entire protoss tech tree.

    I agree. But I feel it's for the better. It gives players another option now, instead of something that just sits there waiting to be activated.

    Pulsar beam I can see being used either for a sneak attack, or better yet something to mix in with an early attack. I'm thinking in conjunction with gateway units to break a Terran bunker defence.

    Usually the option would be to place force fields behind the bunkers to prevent SCVs from repairing. We've all seen this a million times.
    But now, with a few oracles mixed in, you can just dps the crap out of the bunkers.

    Obviously time warp is a game changer, which is exactly what I would expect from an expansion. Again, giving a toss player a different option when choosing their tech of choice.

    The fact I have nothing bad to say about any of these changes terrifies me to my very core. The only thing I'm usure of is Pulsar Beam cause... Void Ray much?

    They said that they will change the Void Ray, since Oracle now has basically the same attack vs. buildings and Tempest completely replace the Void Ray in every possible way.

    I love all of the changes except one, and that is Oracle build time. It went from 60 to 35? I mean, for such unit, 35 is really low, maybe go for 40-45 or something like that? I mean, Protoss has Chronoboost, it comes out really damn fast.

    Really good patch, love Ultra buff.
