    Re: Huge opportunity

Thanks for the support! I'll definitely do something, won't give up.

Here's what I'm calling the final marine and hydralisk, just cause I'm out of time. On to Protoss!

Haha, I don't even consider it 'more' diversity. There are obviously black men around, from the original cinematics to major characters like Duran, Warfield, Tosh and Reigel. I'm guessing women...

Not sure if I'll be able to finish the Protoss one. 23 hours remain. Here's where the Terran's at right now, and the Zerg. Gogogo!

I didn't have time to be super original so here's how my Zerg entry is going. Just a boring ol' classic Hydralisk.

That is really, really good. Really nice sense of scale, really cool poses and armor shapes.

I mean, yeah, ok, that is pretty phenomenal, and I'm not at that level yet. But I actually don't think that level of detail is necessarily something they're looking for, though it might sway the...

You can use any digital painting program. Photoshop is the industry standard and what I use at work, but GIMP is free and has all the tools you could possible need for this kind of digital painting....

Yup. Each person gets to submit 3 portraits, so I figure I'll do one for each race. VoK, you gonna do 3 protoss with SC1-style skin and markings? :P

It's the top thing of the science vessel that rotates in the direction the vessel is moving. It's like how the turret of the siege tank is a separate sprite from the base. They just put the...

    Re: Campaign Portraits

i actually think Heroes' Tassadar is great in terms of colorscheme. Obviously they put the colorscheme on an SC2 protoss head, but the colors/pattern is very faithful to the original portrait, just...

Yay...? These are really great, but very weirdly formatted. And some of them are too low res to see. I want to see what Infested Kerrigan looks like up close!

I've said this before, but the reason the Zerg look 'fisher price' style is because now they're using the same models as they used to render the sprites for these shots, instead of making separate...

Ah, I'm pretty sure that's actually a bit of StarCraft Ghost concept art, from ~2000 or 2001. Have you ever seen it definitively attached to SC1? I only ask because the style matches one of the...

I don't love or hate it. Imo it's wayy better than the Protoss one, not as good as the Zerg.
